I have tried everything short of scrapping it and getting a new one, and nothing seems to work. I've just restored my laptop to its factory settings and still nothing. I can only connect to the internet via the ethernet cable, otherwise the wifi icon has a red 'X' over it and says it's either 'Unavailable' or 'Off' I don't know what else to do as no one I know seems to have a solution that works.
