Hi Testicle (now this sounds weirdLOL) – fast and responsive! It’s definitely not as pretty as the new GUI from AC Ryan but at least it not riddled with bugs. Be sure to use the safe flashing method if you attempt this:.Copy install.img to the root directory of a USB flash drive and connect it to any USB host port of the Playon!HD.Switch off the main power to the unit.Press and hold on to the power button on the front panel of the unit.Switch on the main power.Release the power button when the firmware update starts flashing on your display in a moment and will automatically reboot when update is completed.Do not power off the unit during the flashing process!.

Note: You can’t go from v7.4.x on the playon to this mede8er firmware, v7.4.x has a different bootloader. If your playon is on v7.4.x then downgrade to v7.3.x before installing the mede8er firmware. AFAIK this will void your warranty so do it at your own risk. Most problems can be fixed by flashing back to the playon firmware anyway. I’m just using this until AC Ryan releases a fixed version of their firmware with the new GUI. Ok, I’ve found the thread: l#post14400000 Only for the origianl Playon!

HD and Playon! HD mini – NOT for the newer version 2 players. Originally Posted by Holwill Reposting my initial post to the unlocked firmwares so it would not be lost in part 1! Thanks Lucien, All is working fine now that did not worked well with then latest ACRyan firmware.

Patch

NAS works again and is stable, Wireless is working again Man. You made me happy with this suggestion!! I have installed the “Med V4.0.4 r5315 for AC Ryan SPDIF Med V4.0.4 r5315 for AC Ryan SPDIF 0” version from your blog. This version is made in March this year. Is the latest version to install or do I need to search for a newer / later version at Mede8er site? Please let me know or let us know where we can find. Man Thanks again for you super suggestions!!

Best regards, Manus. Hey Lucien, I have a acryanhd 7300 and I use the mede8ter firmware.

It’s all good but I have one little problem. I cannot seem to choose a Genre-icon for my folders in the Videowall. I have folder in the root of the HDD named Videowall. After I selected the folders for the Videowall I want to choose a picture for the specific folder, like Action, Drama, Comedy etc.

I go to the Videowall and choose Action, then I press the Menu button and then I see the little icon where I can choose pictures for the folders. But when I choose this I get an empty little screen, so no genre icons. Do I miss something? Don’t know what I do wrong. Hope you have the answer, Thanks in advance! Hey Lucien, Can you tell me what folder mede8er uses where I choose the icons for the Genres?

My folder structure of Videowall is like this: Videowall – Diamond – Empty Cases – Genre – GlynRS2 icons – GlynRS2 icons 2 – Mede8er Case – Mede8er Clear Case – Mede8er icons – Photoshop templates Whatever I try and whatever I change, I still get the same dull meddler genre icons What can I do to use your Videowall icons? How do I set up the folder structure on the internal HDD of the ACRyan? Maybe this is a really dumb question but I can’t managed to sort this out And ehm Thanks for the cool Genre icons! “toplevel says: Wednesday, 14 December, 2011 at 01:47 I notice the mod M8 4.0.5 f/w for HD posted above is only 42700KB while the original size is 56472KB, does anyone tested if it can support HD audio, there are some mod version which does not support HD audio. DTS-HD and Tru DD.” The size is smaller beacuse the original font (which is 22 MB!!!

And nobody knows why this big) is replaced with normal windows arial which is around 400 KB. HD audio support depends on the chip revision – DD does not support hd audio, DD+ supports hd audio. Question I have a PlayonHD with the 1073DD C+. I tried both firmware versions and neither flashed. After holding the power button to safe flash it showed a “Mede8er doesn’t support this hardare” type of message.

Since im on the original PlayonHD, not the HD 2, im assuming the DD+ is not the same as a DD C+? And there’s no Mede8er firmware unlocked for me? Im assuming I cant just just use Mede8er 500x or 500×2 firmware unless someone unlocks it somehow? THANK you for helping us and providing ongoing support. Many thanks for your response.

And let me know how I can help you, click on adverts somewhere or something. Hey, I have an AC Ryan Playon HD (PV73100).

Ac Ryan Playon Hd Mini 2 Firmware Download

I changed the firmware to the one you made, to make it look like a Mede8er. It is running just fine, but I have often blank screens, and the system hangs for a while, and start rebooting. I like to go back to the original firmware of AC Ryan, but this seems to be not possible.

I get a message telling me the firmware I’m trying to flash only works on a AC Ryan PlayonHD. Seems like the bootloader is changed, so I can’t go back to the original. Can you help me with this, to change my firmware back to AC Ryan? Thanx for your help. I have been running this mediator firmware for quite some time now but I am having issues with the unit freezing right after starting a video if I let the thing time out and reboot itself then sometimes the same video will then play fine, sometimes it needs 3 or 4 reboots. It’s driving me nuts can anyone please tell me how to downgrade the firmware back to Original AC Ryan because both of the usual methods keep telling me the firmware is not compatible with this hardware, and yes I am using the right version.

I have the iconbit loader installed. Since I have not recieved an answer in 2 years and I still have a unit I can’t really use i’ll post it again: “I have been running this mediator firmware for quite some time now but I am having issues with the unit freezing right after starting a video if I let the thing time out and reboot itself then sometimes the same video will then play fine, sometimes it needs 3 or 4 reboots.
