When I run the 11 Mbyte or so setup.exe program on mini-CD on Win2k, then reboot, my system will NOT run properly and all of the startup files, all of the services, (I can't even open My Computer, ) and so on fail to initialize properly-I cannot even run a command prompt-and upon shutdown nothing happens-I've got to hit the reset button to get anything to happen. Because the system does not shutdown properly, the tainted device driver registry entries are not saved to disk (thankfully) and all I do is uninstall the device driver, and application, and re-apply service pack 4 (then eventually run a windows update online). The other Web Cam mentioned above somewhere UCAM I also bought, and it works, but the applications that came with it will not install on my version of Win2k (server).
However, that UCAM has a USB built-in Microphone that does not work on Win2k. I had a friend try it on their Vista laptop system, and the UCAM and its mic work fine without any drivers-plug and play. I suspect that updating our hardware and OS versions will make things install fine. I will look into the chip set identifier software mentioned above to see if any alternatives show up under a different manufacturer's name. SNIP the initial stuff. I will look into the chip set identifier software mentioned above to see if any alternatives show up under a different manufacturer's name. The detection software says 'There is no Vimicro's Device!'
After the 'check device' button is pressed. Device manager for Win2k says: KROSS.

I viewed a few of the uploaded drivers, and some of them mention this chipset. The latest one may be the one that I'm having troubles with?
